Denise Matthews

Denise Matthews has worked as a film and video producer for more than 25 years. She’s written, produced and/or directed more than one hundred programs, including documentaries, children’s series and informational programs both on staff of PBS affiliates and for clients, including the National Institutes of Health and the Social Security Administration. Matthews has received many awards for her productions including the 2007 Broadcast Educator’s Association Best in Festival Award for Ask J. Edgar Hoover. She earned a Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the University of Florida in 1994 and is currently an Associate Professor of Communication at Eastern Connecticut State University where she also serves as a Production Consultant for the Child and Family Development Resource Center.
